Listed 008: What Was "For The Culture" This Week
Happy Friday! "Listed" is a series where I (very) briefly discuss cultural happenings that caught my eye throughout the week. Each Friday, expect to find a list giving you a rundown of what's been on my radar.
N.E.R.D. + RIHANNA COLLAB ON "LEMON"
This N.E.R.D. track was a pleasant surprise, but the real shocker was Rihanna's rap verse.
SOLANGE IN GUCCI, FOR GLAMOUR
Petra Collins shot Solange in this glittery Gucci dream-look for Glamour's "Women of the Year" issue.
CARDI B COVERS ROLLING STONE
Watching Cardi live this Rap-Princess-Cinderella-Story for the past year has been incredible. And her engagement to Offset was big, but the Rolling Stone cover is huge.
PYER MOSS: "FAMILY BUSINESS"
My favorite designer Kerby Jean-Raymond pays respect to his family history by shooting his most recent AW18 Campaign in his family home.
ANDRE 3000 FOR GQ
In a really interesting, potent interview with GQ (paired with a gorgeous photoshoot) Andre 3000 admits that he thinks Big Boi is the better rapper in Outkast. Stankonia's 17th anniversary was also this week.
JAY Z TO RECEIVE INDUSTRY ICON AWARD FROM GRAMMY'S
The 2018 Grammy's awards will be held in New York, making the nod to Jay Z all the more appropriate. Of course, though, we still remember the snub to his wife, Beyonce, who so clearly deserved such "appropriate" recognition last year for Album of the Year.
QUEEN BEY AS THE QUEEN BEE
This Halloween, Beyonce paid homage to Hip Hop icon Lil Kim, stating "Hip Hop would not be the same without our original Queen B."
That's all I got. We'll chat next week.
